Do something different for Father’s Day and head to the Edgewater Pub for an evening of magic, illusion and trickery with James Hanson.
Hanson — illusionist, magician and escape artist — became fascinated with magic at the early age of seven. He began in Halifax, Nova Scotia learning under Halifax greats David Moon and Rod Doiron. He was able to hone his craft after high school with a summer as a strolling magician in one of Nova Scotia’s largest theme parks, Upper Clements Park.
Hanson then moved to Victoria, where he performed the club, cabaret, and convention centre circuit. It was during one of these shows when he was picked up for a stint in Japan where he was featured in a nightly show.
Returning to British Columbia Hanson targeted bigger venues and while doing a local casino show he was picked up by High Performance Profits and performed in Las Vegas at the World Gaming Conference. Since then he has performed for premiers, actors and professional athletes.
Now based out of Vancouver Hanson continues to entertain larger and larger groups and is currently touring across Canada.
Hanson will bring his next and best show to the Edgewater Pub on Father’s Day, June 18. There will be no cover charge and show starts at 8 p.m.
