Sunday, August 13, 2006 | | |   Suspended high above Crockett Street, upside down and wearing two straight jackets, magician Sandy Flint performed his escape act live on KBTV-4 during Hometown News at 6 Wednesday.
Sandy says his straight jacket stunt was just a taste of what his show “Magic and Illusion” will bring to the Jefferson Theatre this Saturday.
Sandy escaped from this daring Houdini-style stunt while suspended by a crane 70-feet in the air.
Flint has won numerous awards and has been recognized twice by the Texas Association of Magicians for his creative style and outstanding magic. In July of 2002 the world’s largest magic organization, the International Brotherhood of Magicians, selected Sandy from 30 magicians, representing eight countries, to perform in their showcase, the Gold Medal Show at the organization’s annual worldwide conference.
His show, which will be taped for TV, will conclude with a 2000 pound water chamber escape.
