Master magician Sandy Flint brings daring escape to Beaumont

 If the success of a magic show is determined by its degree of danger for the magician, then award-winning master of illusion Sandy Flint will have the most successful show yet on Saturday, June 3, at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont as he ends the show with his life on the line.

Flint will conclude the performance of his brand new show, titled “Magic & Illusion,” by being handcuffed, bound in chains and submerged in a 2,000-pound airtight tank of water. After being sealed inside he will have only seconds to escape.

“We call this piece ‘The Escape,’ and it is not in every show, but we really wanted to do it in Beaumont and the Jefferson Theatre is a facility that it could be done in,” said Flint. He said that although the stunt is very thrilling for the audience, and even a lot of fun for him, there are many precautions that have to be taken for it to be accomplished.

“I love to involve the audience as much as possible in my shows, and the water tank really raises the audience’s excitement level as they see me struggling to escape,” said Flint. “When they are screaming and cheering is when it is really exciting for me, too.”
