FISM info: Cancellations and Transfer of registration

 We have been aware of some minor problems and misunderstandings about our cancellation rules in relation to a transfer of an earlier registration.

Time to clarify things!

As was put on our website in 2003 the current (and generally accepted) policy is that after the 31st of March 2006 cancellations will not lead to any reimbursement. Transfer of registrations was not permitted.

Now that the dates of the FISM WCM2006 are coming nearer and nearer, cancellations are also coming in by the day. Of course we understand that in three years time personal circumstances can change and that a cancellation is unavoidable. We also understand that in such cases someone tries to minimize his loss by selling his registration(s) to other magicians or even make another magician happy by giving him his registration(s) for free.

Therefore the FISM2006 committee has liberated these cancellation/transfer rules and has decided no longer to ignore the transfer of a registration. For security reasons however, we have to be notified of such a transfer and we have to enter the changes in our database. It is not uncommon that for such changes administration costs are charged.

And that is exactly what we are doing: If an early registrant manages to transfer his/her registration to another person, FISM2006 should be notified of the name and address of the new participant. Please take note that it will not be possible to transfer a registration without notifying us. Transfer of registration is available until July 24.

After the payment of the administration costs of SEK 500 per registration, (which will be charged to the original participant and in case of payment by creditcard we need the creditcard number and its expiry date), the new registrant will receive the proper documents and can fully enjoy the FISM World Championships of Magic 2006.
